The Suffering Servant

1 Who ^H4310 has believed ^H539 our report ^H8052?

And to whom ^H4310 has the arm ^H2220 of Yahweh ^H3068 been revealed ^H1540?

2 For He grew ^H5927 up ^H5927 before ^H6440 Him like a tender ^H3126 [fn]shoot ^H3126,

And like a root ^H8328 out of parched ^H6723 ground ^H776;

He has no ^H3808 stately form ^H8389 or majesty ^H1926

That we should look ^H7200 upon Him,

Nor ^H3808 appearance ^H4758 that we should desire ^H2530 Him.

3 He was despised ^H959 and forsaken ^H2310 of men ^H376,

A man ^H376 of [fn]sorrows ^H4341 and acquainted ^H3045 with [fn]grief ^H2483;

And like one from whom men hide ^H4564 their face ^H6440

He was despised ^H959, and we did not esteem ^H2803 Him.

4 Surely ^H403 our [fn]griefs ^H2483 He Himself ^H1931 [fn]bore ^H5375,

And our [fn]sorrows ^H4341 He [fn]carried ^H5445;

Yet we ourselves ^H587 esteemed ^H2803 Him stricken ^H5060,

[fn]Smitten ^H5221 of God ^H430, and afflicted ^H6031.

5 But He was [fn]pierced ^H2490 through ^H2490 for our transgressions ^H6588,

He was crushed ^H1792 for our iniquities ^H5771;

The chastening ^H4148 for our peace ^H7965 fell upon Him,

And by His [fn]wounds ^H2250 we are healed ^H7495.

6 All ^H3605 of us like sheep ^H6629 have gone ^H8582 astray ^H8582,

Each ^H376 of us has turned ^H6437 to his own way ^H1870;

But Yahweh ^H3068 has caused the iniquity ^H5771 of us all ^H3605

To [fn]fall ^H6293 on Him.

7 He was oppressed ^H5065 and He was afflicted ^H6031,

Yet He did not open ^H6605 His mouth ^H6310;

Like a lamb ^H7716 that is led ^H2986 to slaughter ^H2874,

And like a sheep ^H7353 that is ^H481 silent ^H481 before ^H6440 its shearers ^H1494,

So He did not open ^H6605 His mouth ^H6310.

8 By oppression ^H6115 and judgment ^H4941 He was taken ^H3947 away;

And as for His generation ^H1755, who ^H4310 considered ^H7878

That He was cut ^H1504 off ^H1504 out of the land ^H776 of [fn]the living ^H2416,

That for the transgression ^H6588 of my people ^H5971, striking ^H5061 was due to Him?

9 So His grave ^H6913 was assigned ^H5414 with wicked ^H7563 men ^H7563,

Yet He was with a rich ^H6223 man ^H6223 in His death ^H4194,

Because ^H5921 He had done ^H6213 no ^H3808 violence ^H2555,

Nor ^H3808 was there any deceit ^H4820 in His mouth ^H6310.

10 But [fn]Yahweh ^H3068 was pleased ^H2654

To crush ^H1792 Him, [fn]putting ^H2470 Him to grief ^H2470;

If ^H518 You would place ^H7760 His soul ^H5315 as a guilt ^H817 offering ^H817,

He will see ^H7200 His seed ^H2233,

He will prolong ^H748 His days ^H3117,

And the [fn]good ^H2656 pleasure ^H2656 of Yahweh ^H3068 will succeed ^H6743 in His hand ^H3027.

11 As a result ^H4480 of the [fn]anguish ^H5999 of His soul ^H5315,

He will see ^H7200 [fn]it and be ^H7646 satisfied ^H7646;

By His knowledge ^H1847 the Righteous ^H6662 One ^H6662,

My Servant ^H5650, will [fn]justify ^H6663 the many ^H7227,

As He will bear ^H5445 their iniquities ^H5771.

12 Therefore ^H3651, I will divide ^H2505 for Him a ^H2505 portion ^H2505 with the many ^H7227,

And He will divide ^H2505 the spoil ^H7998 with the strong ^H6099;

Because ^H8478 H834 He poured ^H6168 out ^H6168 His soul ^H5315 to death ^H4194,

And was numbered ^H4487 with the transgressors ^H6586;

Yet He Himself ^H1931 [fn]bore ^H5375 the sin ^H2399 of many ^H7227,

And interceded ^H6293 for the transgressors ^H6586.
