Elihu Speaks of God’s Voice

1 “At this ^H2088 also ^H637 my heart ^H3820 trembles ^H2729,

And leaps ^H5425 from its place ^H4725.

2 “[fn]Listen ^H8085 closely ^H8085 to the thunder ^H7267 of His voice ^H6963,

And the rumbling ^H1899 that goes ^H3318 out ^H3318 from His mouth ^H6310.

3 “Under ^H8478 the whole ^H3605 heaven ^H8064 He lets ^H8281 it loose ^H8281,

And His [fn]lightning ^H216 to the ends ^H3671 of the earth ^H776.

4 “After ^H310 it, a voice ^H6963 roars ^H7580;

He thunders ^H7481 with His majestic ^H1347 voice ^H6963,

And He does not restrain ^H6117 [fn]the lightnings when His voice ^H6963 is heard ^H8085.

5 “God ^H410 thunders ^H7481 with His voice ^H6963 marvelously ^H6381,

Doing ^H6213 great ^H1419 things ^H1419 which we do not ^H3808 know ^H3045.

6 “For to the snow ^H7950 He says ^H559, ‘Fall ^H1933 on the earth ^H776,’

12 “It changes ^H4524 direction ^H4524, turning ^H2015 around ^H2015 by His guidance ^H8458,

On the face ^H6440 of the inhabited ^H8398 earth ^H776.

Or ^H518 for lovingkindness ^H2617, He causes it to [fn]happen ^H4672.

14 “Give ^H238 ear ^H238 to this ^H2088, O Job ^H347,

Stand ^H5975 and carefully ^H995 consider ^H995 the wondrous ^H6381 deeds ^H6381 of God ^H410.

15 “Do you know ^H3045 how God ^H433 establishes ^H7760 them,

And makes the [fn]lightning ^H216 of His cloud ^H6051 to shine ^H3313?

16 “Do you know ^H3045 about ^H5921 the layers ^H4657 of the thick ^H5645 clouds ^H5645,

The wonders ^H4652 of one [fn]perfect ^H8549 in knowledge ^H1843,

17 You whose ^H834 garments ^H899 are hot ^H2525,

When the land ^H776 is ^H8252 quiet ^H8252 because ^H4480 of the south ^H1864 wind?

18 “Can you, with Him, spread ^H7554 out ^H7554 the skies ^H7834,

Strong ^H2389 as a molten ^H3332 mirror ^H7209?

19 “Make ^H3045 us know ^H3045 what ^H4100 we shall say ^H559 to Him;

20 “Shall it be recounted ^H5608 to Him that I would speak ^H1696?

[fn]If ^H518 a man ^H376 says ^H559 a word, will He indeed be swallowed ^H1104 up?

21 “So now ^H6258 [fn]men do not see ^H7200 the light ^H216 which ^H1931 is bright ^H925 in the skies ^H7834;

But the wind ^H7307 has passed ^H5674 and cleared ^H2891 them.

22 “Out of the north ^H6828 comes ^H857 golden ^H2091 splendor;

Around ^H5921 God ^H433 is fearsome ^H3372 majesty ^H1935.

23 “The Almighty ^H7706—we cannot ^H3808 find ^H4672 Him;

He is exalted ^H7689 in power ^H3581

And He will not afflict ^H6031 justice ^H4941 and abundant ^H7230 righteousness ^H6666.

24 “Therefore ^H3651 men ^H376 fear ^H3372 Him;

He does not regard ^H7200 any ^H3605 who are wise ^H2450 of heart ^H3820.”
