Job Repents in Dust and Ashes

1 Then Job ^H347 answered ^H6030 Yahweh ^H3068 and said ^H559,

2 “I know ^H3045 that You can ^H3201 do all ^H3605 things ^H3605,

And that no ^H3808 purpose ^H4209 of Yours can be ^H1219 thwarted ^H1219.

3 ‘Who ^H4310 is this ^H2088 that hides ^H5956 counsel ^H6098 without ^H1097 knowledge ^H1847?’

Therefore ^H3651 I have declared ^H5046 that which I did not understand ^H995,

Things ^H6381 too ^H4480 marvelous ^H6381 for me, which I did not know ^H3045.

4 ‘Hear ^H8085, now ^H4994, and I will speak ^H1696;

I will ask ^H7592 You, and You make me know ^H3045.’

5 “I have heard ^H8085 of You by the hearing ^H8088 of the ear ^H241;

But now ^H6258 my eye ^H5869 sees ^H7200 You;

6 Therefore ^H5921 H3651 I reject ^H3988 myself,

And I repent ^H5162 in dust ^H6083 and ashes ^H665.”

Yahweh’s Anger Towards Job’s Friends

7 Now it happened ^H1961 after ^H310 Yahweh ^H3068 had spoken ^H1696 these ^H428 words ^H1697 to Job ^H347, that Yahweh ^H3068 said ^H559 to Eliphaz ^H464 the Temanite ^H8489, “My anger ^H639 burns ^H2734 against you and against your two ^H8147 friends ^H7453 because ^H3588 you have not spoken ^H1696 of Me what is ^H3559 right ^H3559 as My servant ^H5650 Job ^H347 has.

8 So now ^H6258, take ^H3947 for yourselves seven ^H7651 bulls ^H6499 and seven ^H7651 rams ^H352, and go ^H1980 to My servant ^H5650 Job ^H347, and offer ^H5927 up ^H5927 a burnt ^H5930 offering ^H5930 for yourselves, and My servant ^H5650 Job ^H347 will pray ^H6419 for you. For I will [fn]accept ^H6440 H5375 him so ^H1115 that I may not do ^H6213 with you according to your folly ^H5039, because ^H3588 you have not spoken ^H1696 of Me what is ^H3559 right ^H3559, as My servant ^H5650 Job ^H347 has.” 9 So Eliphaz ^H464 the Temanite ^H8489 and Bildad ^H1085 the Shuhite ^H7747 and Zophar ^H6691 the Naamathite ^H5284 went ^H1980 and did ^H6213 as Yahweh ^H3068 told ^H1696 them; and Yahweh ^H3068 [fn]accepted ^H5375 H6440 Job ^H347.

Yahweh Restores Job’s Fortunes

10 And Yahweh ^H3068 restored ^H7725 the fortunes ^H7622 of Job ^H347 when he prayed ^H6419 for his friends ^H7453, and Yahweh ^H3068 increased ^H3254 all ^H3605 that Job ^H347 had twofold ^H4932.

11 Then all ^H3605 his brothers ^H251 and all ^H3605 his sisters ^H269 and all ^H3605 who had known ^H3045 him before ^H6440 came ^H935 to him, and they ate ^H398 bread ^H3899 with him in his house ^H1004; and they consoled ^H5110 him and comforted ^H5162 him for all ^H3605 the calamity ^H7451 that Yahweh ^H3068 had brought ^H935 on him. And each ^H376 one ^H376 gave ^H5414 him one ^H259 [fn]qesitah ^H7192, and each ^H376 a ring ^H5141 of gold ^H2091. 12 And Yahweh ^H3068 blessed ^H1288 the latter ^H319 days of Job ^H347 more ^H4480 than ^H4480 his beginning ^H7225; and he had ^H1961 14,000 ^{H702 H6240 H505} sheep ^H6629 and 6,000 ^H8337 H505 camels ^H1581 and 1,000 ^H505 pairs ^H6776 of oxen ^H1241 and 1,000 ^H505 female ^H860 donkeys ^H860. 13 He also had ^H1961 seven ^H7658 sons ^H1121 and three ^H7969 daughters ^H1323. 14 And he named ^H7121 H8034 the first ^H259 Jemimah ^H3224 and the second ^H8145 Keziah ^H7103 and the third ^H7992 Keren-happuch ^H7163. 15 Now in all ^H3605 the land ^H776 no ^H3808 women ^H802 were found ^H4672 so beautiful ^H3303 as Job’s ^H347 daughters ^H1323; and their father ^H1 gave ^H5414 them inheritance ^H5159 among ^H8432 their brothers ^H251. 16 And after ^H310 this ^H2088, Job ^H347 lived ^H2421 140 ^H3967 H705 years ^H8141 and saw ^H7200 his sons ^H1121 and his grandsons ^H1121, four ^H702 generations ^H1755. 17 Then Job ^H347 died ^H4191, an old ^H2205 man ^H2205 and full ^H7649 of days ^H3117.
