Priests and Levites Come Up with Zerubbabel

1 Now these ^H428 are the priests ^H3548 and the Levites ^H3881 who ^H834 came ^H5927 up ^H5927 with Zerubbabel ^H2216 the son ^H1121 of Shealtiel ^H7597, and Jeshua ^H3091:

Seraiah ^H8304, Jeremiah ^H3414, Ezra ^H5830,

2 Amariah ^H568, Malluch ^H4409, Hattush ^H2407,

3 Shecaniah ^H7935, Rehum ^H7348, Meremoth ^H4822,

4 Iddo ^H5714, Ginnethoi ^H1599, Abijah ^H29,

5 Mijamin ^H4326, Maadiah ^H4573, Bilgah ^H1083,

6 Shemaiah ^H8098 and Joiarib ^H3080, Jedaiah ^H3048,

7 Sallu ^H5543, Amok ^H5987, Hilkiah ^H2518, and Jedaiah ^H3048.

These ^H428 were the heads ^H7218 of the priests ^H3548 and their [fn]relatives ^H251 in the days ^H3117 of Jeshua ^H3091.

8 The Levites ^H3881 were

Jeshua ^H3091, Binnui ^H1131, Kadmiel ^H6934, Sherebiah ^H8274, Judah ^H3063, and Mattaniah ^H4983 who was over ^H5921 of the songs ^H1960 of ^H1960 thanksgiving ^H1960, he and his brothers ^H251.

9 Also Bakbukiah ^H1229 and Unni ^H6042, their brothers ^H251, stood opposite ^H5048 them in keeping their responsibilities ^H4931.

The Heads of the Levites

22 As for the Levites ^H3881, in the days ^H3117 of Eliashib ^H475, Joiada ^H3077, and Johanan ^H3076 and Jaddua ^H3037, the heads ^H7218 of fathers’ ^H1 households were written ^H3789 down; the priests ^H3548 were also in the reign ^H4438 of Darius ^H1867 the Persian ^H6542.

23 The sons ^H1121 of Levi ^H3878, the heads ^H7218 of fathers’ ^H1 households, were written ^H3789 down in the Book ^H5612 of the Chronicles ^H1697 H3117 up to the days ^H3117 of Johanan ^H3076 the son ^H1121 of Eliashib ^H475.

24 The heads ^H7218 of the Levites ^H3881 were Hashabiah ^H2811, Sherebiah ^H8274, and Jeshua ^H3091 the son ^H1121 of Kadmiel ^H6934, with their brothers ^H251 opposite ^H5048 them, to praise ^H1984 and give ^H3034 thanks ^H3034, by the commandment ^H4687 of David ^H1732 the man ^H376 of God ^H430, watch ^H4929 by ^H5980 watch ^H4929.

25 Mattaniah ^H4983, Bakbukiah ^H1229, Obadiah ^H5662, Meshullam ^H4918, Talmon ^H2929, and Akkub ^H6126 were gatekeepers ^H7778 keeping ^H4929 watch ^H4929 at the storerooms ^H624 of the gates ^H8179.

Dedication of the Wall

The Choirs in the House of God

35 and some ^H4480 of the sons ^H1121 of the priests ^H3548 with trumpets ^H2689; and Zechariah ^H2148 the son ^H1121 of Jonathan ^H3083, the son ^H1121 of Shemaiah ^H8098, the son ^H1121 of Mattaniah ^H4983, the son ^H1121 of Micaiah ^H4320, the son ^H1121 of Zaccur ^H2139, the son ^H1121 of Asaph ^H623,

36 and his [fn]relatives ^H251, Shemaiah ^H8098, Azarel ^H5832, Milalai ^H4450, Gilalai ^H1562, Maai ^H4597, Nethanel ^H5417, Judah ^H3063, and Hanani ^H2607, with the musical ^H7892 instruments ^H3627 of David ^H1732 the man ^H376 of God ^H430. And Ezra ^H5830 the scribe ^H5608 went before ^H6440 them.

37 At the Spring ^H5869 Gate ^H8179 they went ^H5927 directly ^H5048 up ^H5927 the steps ^H4609 of the city ^H5892 of David ^H1732 by the stairway ^H4608 of the wall ^H2346 above ^H4480 H5921 the house ^H1004 of David ^H1732 to the Water ^H4325 Gate ^H8179 on the east ^H4217.

39 and above ^H4480 H5921 the Gate ^H8179 of Ephraim ^H669, by the Old ^H3465 Gate ^H8179, by the Fish ^H1709 Gate ^H8179, the Tower ^H4026 of Hananel ^H2606, and the Tower ^H4026 of the Hundred ^H3968, as far ^H5704 as the Sheep ^H6629 Gate ^H8179; and they stood ^H5975 at the Gate ^H8179 of the Guard ^H4307. 40 Then the two ^H8147 choirs ^H8426 took ^H5975 their stand ^H5975 in the house ^H1004 of God ^H430. So did I and half ^H2677 of the officials ^H5461 with me; 41 and the priests ^H3548:

Eliakim ^H471, Maaseiah ^H4641, Miniamin ^H4509, Micaiah ^H4320, Elioenai ^H454, Zechariah ^H2148 and Hananiah ^H2608, with the trumpets ^H2689;

42 and Maaseiah ^H4641, Shemaiah ^H8098, Eleazar ^H499, Uzzi ^H5813, Jehohanan ^H3076, Malchijah ^H4441, Elam ^H5867, and Ezer ^H5827.

And the singers ^H7891 made their voices heard ^H8085, with Jezrahiah ^H3156 their overseer ^H6496, 43 and on that day ^H3117 they offered ^H2076 great ^H1419 sacrifices ^H2077 and were glad ^H8055 because ^H3588 God ^H430 had given ^H8055 them great ^H1419 gladness ^H8057, even ^H1571 the women ^H802 and children ^H3206 were glad ^H8055, so that the gladness ^H8057 of Jerusalem ^H3389 was heard ^H8085 from afar ^H7350.

44 On that day ^H3117 men ^H376 were also appointed ^H6485 over ^H5921 the chambers ^H5393 for the stores ^H214, the contributions ^H8641, the first ^H7225 fruits ^H7225, and the tithes ^H4643, to gather ^H3664 into them from the fields ^H7704 of the cities ^H5892 the portions ^H4521 required by the law ^H8451 for the priests ^H3548 and Levites ^H3881; for Judah ^H3063 was glad ^H8057 over ^H5921 the priests ^H3548 and Levites ^H3881 who stood ^H5975 to minister. 45 And they kept ^H8104 their responsibility given by their God ^H430 and the responsibility ^H4931 of cleansing ^H2893, together with the singers ^H7891 and the gatekeepers ^H7778, according to the commandment ^H4687 of David ^H1732 and his son ^H1121 Solomon ^H8010. 46 For in the days ^H3117 of David ^H1732 and Asaph ^H623, in ancient ^H6924 times ^H6924, there were [fn]chiefs ^H7218 of the singers ^H7891, songs ^H7892 of praise ^H8416 and hymns ^H3034 of thanksgiving ^H3034 to God ^H430. 47 So all ^H3605 Israel ^H3478 in the days ^H3117 of Zerubbabel ^H2216 and Nehemiah ^H5166 were giving ^H5414 the portions ^H4521 due the singers ^H7891 and the gatekeepers ^H7778 as each ^H3117 day ^H3117 required ^H1697, and set ^H6942 apart ^H6942 the holy ^H6942 portion for the Levites ^H3881, and the Levites ^H3881 set ^H6942 apart ^H6942 the holy ^H6942 portion for the sons ^H1121 of Aaron ^H175.
