The Journey from Egypt to Jordan

38 Then Aaron ^H175 the priest ^H3548 went ^H5927 up ^H5927 to Mount ^H2022 Hor ^H2023 at the [fn]command ^H6310 of Yahweh ^H3068, and he died ^H4191 there ^H8033 in the fortieth ^H705 year ^H8141 after the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 had come ^H3318 from the land ^H776 of Egypt ^H4714, on the first ^H259 day in the fifth ^H2549 month ^H2320.

39 Now Aaron ^H175 was 123 ^{H3967 H6242 H7969} years ^H8141 old ^H1121 when he died ^H4194 on Mount ^H2022 Hor ^H2023.

40 Now the Canaanite ^H3669, the king ^H4428 of Arad ^H6166 [fn]who ^H1931 lived ^H3427 in the [fn]Negev ^H5045 in the land ^H776 of Canaan ^H3667, heard ^H8085 when the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 were coming ^H935.

41 Then they journeyed ^H5265 from Mount ^H2022 Hor ^H2023 and camped ^H2583 at Zalmonah ^H6758.

Statutes of Possessing the Land

50 Then Yahweh ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 to Moses ^H4872 in the plains ^H6160 of Moab ^H4124 by the Jordan ^H3383 opposite Jericho ^H3405, saying ^H559,

51 “Speak ^H1696 to the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 and say ^H559 to them, ‘When ^H3588 you cross ^H5674 over ^H5674 the Jordan ^H3383 into the land ^H776 of Canaan ^H3667, 52 then you shall dispossess ^H3423 all ^H3605 the inhabitants ^H3427 of the land ^H776 from before ^H6440 you and destroy ^H6 all ^H3605 their carved ^H4906 stones ^H4906 and destroy ^H6 all ^H3605 their molten ^H4541 images ^H4541 and demolish ^H8045 all ^H3605 their high ^H1116 places ^H1116; 53 and you shall take ^H3423 possession ^H3423 of the land ^H776 and inhabit ^H3427 it, for I have given ^H5414 the land ^H776 to you to possess ^H3423 it. 54 And you shall inherit ^H5157 the land ^H776 by lot ^H1486 according to your families ^H4940; to the larger ^H7227 you shall give ^H7235 a larger ^H7235 inheritance ^H5159, and to the smaller ^H4592 you shall give ^H4591 a smaller ^H4591 inheritance ^H5159. Wherever ^{H413 H834 H8033} the lot ^H1486 falls ^H3318 to anyone, that shall be his. You shall inherit ^H5157 according to the tribes ^H4294 of your fathers ^H1. 55 But if ^H518 you do not dispossess ^H3423 the inhabitants ^H3427 of the land ^H776 from before ^H6440 you, then it will be ^H1961 that those whom ^H834 you let ^H3498 remain ^H3498 of them will become as pricks ^H7899 in your eyes ^H5869 and as thorns ^H6796 in your sides ^H6654, and they will trouble ^H6887 you in the land ^H776 which ^H834 you inhabit ^H3427. 56 And it will be as I plan ^H1819 to do ^H6213 to them, so I will do ^H6213 to you.’”
