A Flying Scroll
1 Then I lifted H5375 up H5375 my eyes H5869 again H7725 and saw H7200, and behold H2009, a flying H5774 scroll H4039.
2 And he said H559 to me, “What H4100 do you see H7200?” And I said H559, “I see H7200 a flying H5774 scroll H4039; its length H753 is [fn]twenty H6242 cubits H520 and its width H7341 ten H6235 cubits H520.” 3 Then he said H559 to me, “This H2088 is the curse H423 that is going H3318 forth H3318 over H5921 the face H6440 of the whole H3605 [fn]land H776; surely H3588 everyone H3605 who steals H1589 will be [fn]purged H5352 away according to [fn]the writing on one H2088 side H2088, and everyone H3605 who swears H7650 will be [fn]purged H5352 away according to the writing on the other side H2088. 4 I will make it go H3318 forth H3318,” declares H5002 Yahweh H3068 of hosts H6635, “and it will enter H935 the house H1004 of the thief H1590 and the house H1004 of the one who swears H7650 falsely H8267 by My name H8034; and it will spend H3885 the H3885 night H3885 within H8432 that house H1004 and consume H3615 it with its timber H6086 and stones H68.”
A Woman in an Ephah
5 Then the angel H4397 who was speaking H1696 with me went H3318 out H3318 and said H559 to me, “Lift H5375 up H5375 now H4994 your eyes H5869 and see H7200 what H4100 this H2088 is going H3318 forth H3318.”
6 So I said H559, “What H4100 is it?” And he said H559, “This H2088 is the [fn]ephah H374 going H3318 forth H3318.” Again he said H559, “This H2088 is their [fn]appearance H5869 in all H3605 the [fn]land H776 7 (and behold H2009, a lead H5777 cover H3603 was lifted H5375 up H5375); and this H2088 is a woman H802 sitting H3427 inside H8432 the ephah H374.” 8 Then he said H559, “This H2088 is Wickedness H7564!” And he threw H7993 her down H7993 into the middle H8432 of the ephah H374 and threw H7993 the lead H5777 weight H68 on its [fn]opening H6310. 9 Then I lifted H5375 up H5375 my eyes H5869 and saw H7200, and behold H2009, two H8147 women H802 were coming H3318 out H3318 with the wind H7307 in their wings H3671; and they had wings H3671 like the wings H3671 of a stork H2624, and they lifted H5375 up H5375 the ephah H374 between H996 the earth H776 and the heavens H8064. 10 And I said H559 to the angel H4397 who was speaking H1696 with me, “Where H575 are they taking H1980 the ephah H374?” 11 Then he said H559 to me, “To build H1129 a [fn]house H1004 for her in the land H776 of Shinar H8152; and when it is prepared H3559, she will be set H5117 there H8033 on her own pedestal H4350.”
