Jerusalem, the City of Truth

1 Then the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635 came ^H1961, saying ^H559,

2 “Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘[fn]I am ^H7065 jealous ^H7065 with great ^H1419 jealousy ^H7068 for Zion ^H6726, and with great ^H1419 wrath ^H2534 I am ^H7065 jealous ^H7065 for her.’ 3 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘I will return ^H7725 to Zion ^H6726 and will dwell ^H7931 in the midst ^H8432 of Jerusalem ^H3389. Then Jerusalem ^H3389 will be called ^H7121 the City ^H5892 of Truth ^H571, and the mountain ^H2022 of Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635 will be called the Holy ^H6944 Mountain ^H2022.’ 4 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘Old ^H2205 men ^H2205 and old ^H2205 women ^H2205 will again ^H5750 sit ^H3427 in the [fn]streets ^H7339 of Jerusalem ^H3389, each ^H376 man ^H376 with his staff ^H4938 in his hand ^H3027 because ^H4480 of [fn]age ^H7230 H3117. 5 And the [fn]streets ^H7339 of the city ^H5892 will be filled ^H4390 with boys ^H3206 and girls ^H3207 playing ^H7832 in its [fn]streets ^H7339.’ 6 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘If ^H3588 it is ^H6381 [fn]too ^H6381 difficult ^H6381 in the sight ^H5869 of the remnant ^H7611 of this ^H2088 people ^H5971 in those ^H1992 days ^H3117, will it also ^H1571 be ^H6381 [fn]too ^H6381 difficult ^H6381 in My sight ^H5869?’ declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635. 7 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘Behold ^H2009, I am going to save ^H3467 My people ^H5971 from the land ^H776 where the [fn]sun rises ^H4217 and from the land ^H776 where the [fn]sun ^H8121 sets ^H3996; 8 and I will bring ^H935 them back, and they will dwell ^H7931 in the midst ^H8432 of Jerusalem ^H3389; and they shall be My people ^H5971, and I will be their God ^H430 in [fn]truth ^H571 and righteousness ^H6666.’

9 “Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘Let your hands ^H3027 be strong ^H2388, you who are listening ^H8085 in these ^H428 days ^H3117 to these ^H428 words ^H1697 from the mouth ^H6310 of the prophets ^H5030, those who ^H834 spoke in the day ^H3117 that the foundation ^H3245 of the house ^H1004 of Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635 was laid ^H3245, to the end that the temple ^H1964 might be built ^H1129. 10 For before ^H6440 those ^H1992 days ^H3117 there was no ^H3808 wage ^H7939 for man ^H120 or any wage ^H7939 for animal ^H929; and for him who went ^H3318 out ^H3318 or came ^H935 in ^H935 there ^H369 was ^H369 no ^H3808 [fn]peace ^H7965 because ^H4480 of the adversary ^H6862, and I set ^H7971 all ^H3605 men ^H120 one ^H376 against another ^H7453. 11 But now ^H6258 I will not [fn]treat the remnant ^H7611 of this ^H2088 people ^H5971 as in the former ^H7223 days ^H3117,’ declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635. 12 ‘For there will be peace ^H7965 for the seed ^H2233: the vine ^H1612 will yield ^H5414 its fruit ^H6529, the land ^H776 will yield ^H5414 its produce ^H2981, and the heavens ^H8064 will give ^H5414 their dew ^H2919; and I will cause ^H5157 the remnant ^H7611 of this ^H2088 people ^H5971 to ^H5157 inherit ^H5157 all ^H3605 these ^H428 things. 13 And it will be ^H1961 that just ^H834 as you were a curse ^H7045 among the nations ^H1471, O house ^H1004 of Judah ^H3063 and house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, so ^H3651 I will save ^H3467 you that you may become ^H1961 a blessing ^H1293. Do not fear ^H3372; let your hands ^H3027 be strong ^H2388.’

14 “For thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘Just ^H834 as I purposed ^H2161 to bring ^H7489 about evil ^H7489 to you when your fathers ^H1 provoked ^H7107 Me to ^H7107 wrath ^H7107,’ says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘and I have not relented ^H5162, 15 so ^H3651 I have again ^H7725 purposed ^H2161 in these ^H428 days ^H3117 to do ^H3190 good ^H3190 to Jerusalem ^H3389 and to the house ^H1004 of Judah ^H3063. Do not fear ^H3372! 16 These ^H428 are the things ^H1697 which ^H834 you should do ^H6213: speak ^H1696 the truth ^H571 to one ^H376 another ^H7453; judge ^H8199 with truth ^H571 and judgment ^H4941 for peace ^H7965 in your [fn]gates ^H8179. 17 Also let none ^H376 H408 of you devise ^H2803 evil ^H7451 in your heart ^H3824 against another ^H7453, and do not love ^H157 [fn]false ^H8267 oaths ^H7621; for all ^H3605 these ^H428 are what ^H834 I hate ^H8130,’ declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068.”

18 Then the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635 came ^H1961 to me, saying ^H559, 19 “Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘The fast ^H6685 of the fourth ^H7243, the fast ^H6685 of the fifth ^H2549, the fast ^H6685 of the seventh ^H7637, and the fast ^H6685 of the tenth ^H6224 months will become ^H1961 joy ^H8342, gladness ^H8057, and [fn]merry ^H2896 appointed ^H4150 feasts ^H4150 for the house ^H1004 of Judah ^H3063; so love ^H157 truth ^H571 and peace ^H7965.’

20 “Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘It will yet ^H5750 be that peoples ^H5971 will come ^H935, even the inhabitants ^H3427 of many ^H7227 cities ^H5892. 21 The inhabitants ^H3427 of one ^H259 will go ^H1980 to another ^H259, saying ^H559, “Let us go ^H1980 at ^H1980 once ^H1980 to [fn]entreat ^H2470 the favor ^H2470 H6440 of Yahweh ^H3068 and to seek ^H1245 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635; [fn]I will also ^H1571 go ^H1980.” 22 So many ^H7227 peoples ^H5971 and mighty ^H6099 nations ^H1471 will come ^H935 to seek ^H1245 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635 in ^H935 Jerusalem ^H3389 and to [fn]entreat ^H2470 the favor ^H2470 H6440 of Yahweh ^H3068.’ 23 Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635, ‘In those ^H1992 days ^H3117 ten ^H6235 men ^H376 from every ^H3605 tongue ^H3956 of the nations ^H1471 will [fn]take ^H2388 hold ^H2388 of the [fn]garment ^H3671 of a Jew ^H3064, saying ^H559, “Let us go ^H1980 with you, for we have heard ^H8085 that God ^H430 is with you.”’”
