War of the Kings

Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:1 - And it came about in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of [fn]Goiim,
Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:2 - that they made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar).

Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:4 - For twelve years they had served Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:5 - And in the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him came and [fn]defeated the Rephaim in Ashteroth-karnaim, and the Zuzim in Ham, and the Emim in [fn]Shaveh-kiriathaim,

Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:10 - Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell [fn]into them. But those who survived fled to the hill country.

God’s Promise to Abram

Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:17 - Then after his return from the [fn]defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).

[fn]Possessor of heaven and earth;

Who has handed over your enemies to you.”
And he gave him a tenth of everything.

Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:23 - that I will not take a thread or a sandal strap or anything that is yours, so that you do not say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’
Unchecked Copy BoxGen 14:24 - [fn]I will take nothing except what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their share.”
