(1.) The grandson of Benjamin (1Ch 8:4).

(2.) The son of Phinehas the high priest (1Ch 6:4-5; 1Ch 6:50; Ezr 7:5).

Abishua:

a-bish'-u-a, abi-shoo'-a ('abhishua‘, uncertain, perhaps "father of wealth," or "my father is wealth"):

(1) A son of Bela the son of Benjamin (1Ch 8:4).

(2) The son of Phinehas, who was grandson to Aaron (1Ch 6:4,5,50, Ezr 7:5).

Abishua:

(father of deliverance).

(1.) Son of Bela, of the tribe of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 8:4).

(2.) Son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, and father of Bukki, in the genealogy of the high‐priests (1 Chronicles 6:4-5; 6:50-51; Ezra 7:4-5). According to Josephus (Ant. viii. 1, §3) he executed the office of high‐priest after his father Phinehas, and was succeeded by Eli; his descendants, till Zadok, falling into the rank of private persons.
