Dry:

is used

(a) naturally, of "dry" land, Hbr 11:29; or of land in general, Mat 23:15, "land;" or of physical infirmity, "withered," Mat 12:10; Mar 3:3; Luk 6:6, 8; Jhn 5:3;

(b) figuratively, in Luk 23:31, with reference to the spiritual "barrenness" of the Jews, in contrast to the character of the Lord. Cp. Psa 1:3; Isa 56:3; Eze 17:24; 20:47.

Dry:

"waterless" (a, negative, n, euphonic, hudor, "water"), is rendered "dry" in Mat 12:43, AV, and Luk 11:24 (RV, "waterless"); "without water" in 2Pe 2:17; Jud 1:12.

It is translated "ripe" (RV, "overripe") in Rev 14:15, of a harvest (used figuratively of the gathered nations against Jerusalem at the end of this age); "pineth away," in Mar 9:18.
