Calah:
(completion, old age) one of the most ancient cities of Assyria (Genesis 10:11). The site of Calah is probably marked by the Nimrud ruins. If this be regarded as ascertained, Calah must be considered to have been at one time (about B.C. 930‐720). the capital of the empire.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
