Robbery:
Robbery has ever been one of the principal employments of the nomad tribes of the East. From the time of Ishmael to the present day the Bedouin has been a "wild man," and a robber by trade (Genesis 16:12). The Mosaic law on the subject of theft is contained in Exodus 2:2. There seems no reason to suppose that the law underwent any alteration in Solomon's time. Man‐stealing was punishable with death (Exodus 21:16; 24:7). Invasion of right in land was strictly forbidden (Deuteronomy 27:17; Isaiah 5:8; Micah 2:2).
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
