Synagogue (Put Out of The):
an adjective denoting "expelled from the congregation, excommunicated," is used
(a) with ginomai, "to become, be made," Jhn 9:22; 12:42;
(b) with poieo, "to make," Jhn 16:2. This excommunication involved prohibition not only from attendance at the "synagogue," but from all fellowship with Israelites.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
