Ahikam:
(a brother who raises up) son of Shaphan the scribe, an influential officer at the court of Josiah, was one of the delegates sent by Hilkiah to consult Huldah (2 Kings 22:12-14). In the reign of Jehoiakim he successfully used his influence to protect the prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 26:24). He was the father of Gedaliah. SEE [GEDALIAH]. (B.C. 641)
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
