Bruit:
broot (shema): A word no longer in common use (marked "archaic" and "obsolete" by Murray), signifying a rumor or report. The word occurs in the King James Version Jer 10:22 (the Revised Version (British and American) "rumour"; the American Standard Revised Version "tidings") and the King James Version Na 3:19 (the Revised Version (British and American) "bruit," appendix. "report"; the American Standard Revised Version "report").
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
