Blood Atonement

CURRENT TEACHING OF THE MORMON CHURCH:

Some sins cannot be remitted by Christ's blood.

"Joseph Smith taught that there were certain sins so grievous that man may commit, that they will place the transgressors beyond the power of the atonement of Christ. If these offenses are committed, then the blood of Christ will not cleanse them from their sins even though they repent. Therefore their only hope is to have their own blood shed to atone, as far as possible, in their behalf. This is scriptural doctrine, and is taught in all the standard works of the church."
(Doctrine of Salvation by Joseph F. Smith Vol. 1, Pg. 135)

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT SHEDDING OF OUR BLOOD FOR SINS:

1. THE BLOOD OF CHRIST HAS A SPECIAL, HIGH PLACE IN SCRIPTURE:
It alone is sufficient for eternal life - not ours Hbr 9:13, 14
With one sacrifice, it paid for all of man's sins Hbr 9:24-28
It brought eternal life to every believer Jhn 6:53-56
2. WE ARE JUSTIFIED BY CHRIST BLOOD, NOT OUR OWN:
Justified and saved by Christ blood. Rom 5:8, 9
Blood of Jesus cleanseth us from ALL sin. 1Jo 1:7-10
3. CHRIST PROVIDED A MEANS FOR ANY LAW BREAKER:
Christ is the end of the law, salvation comes through faith. Rom 10:4, 9, 10
