[Heb 4:14-16 NKJV] [14] Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] confession. [15] For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all [points] tempted as [we are, yet] without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
[Heb 5:7-9 NKJV] [7] who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, [8] though He was a Son, [yet] He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. [9] And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
[Phl 1:29 NKJV] [29] For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,
[Phl 3:7-9 NKJV] [7] But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. [8] Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ [9] and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which [is] from the law, but that which [is] through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
[Col 1:24-26 NKJV] [24] I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, [25] of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, [26] the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.
[2Ti 1:8-12 NKJV] [8] Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, [9] who has saved us and called [us] with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, [10] but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, [who] has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, [11] to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. [12] For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
[2Co 11:24-28 NKJV] [24] From the Jews five times I received forty [stripes] minus one. [25] Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; [26] [in] journeys often, [in] perils of waters, [in] perils of robbers, [in] perils of [my own] countrymen, [in] perils of the Gentiles, [in] perils in the city, [in] perils in the wilderness, [in] perils in the sea, [in] perils among false brethren; [27] in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness-- [28] besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
[Phl 1:12-18, 21-28, 30 NKJV] [12] But I want you to know, brethren, that the things [which happened] to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, [13] so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; [14] and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. [15] Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: [16] The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; [17] but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. [18] What then? Only [that] in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice. ... [21] For to me, to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain. [22] But if [I] live on in the flesh, this [will mean] fruit from [my] labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. [23] For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, [which is] far better. [24] Nevertheless to remain in the flesh [is] more needful for you. [25] And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, [26] that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again. [27] Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, [28] and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. ... [30] having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear [is] in me.
[Mat 10:37-39 NKJV] [37] "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. [38] "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. [39] "He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
[Mat 16:24-27 NKJV] [24] Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. [25] "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. [26] "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? [27] "For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
[Luk 9:57-62 NKJV] [57] Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, [that] someone said to Him, "Lord, I will follow You wherever You go." [58] And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air [have] nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay [His] head." [59] Then He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." [60] Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." [61] And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go [and] bid them farewell who are at my house." [62] But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
[Luk 14:31-33 NKJV] [31] "Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? [32] "Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. [33] "So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
[Jas 4:13-15 NKJV] [13] Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; [14] whereas you do not know what [will happen] tomorrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. [15] Instead you [ought] to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."
[Jhn 3:30 NKJV] [30] "He must increase, but I [must] decrease.
[Luk 22:27 NKJV] [27] "For who [is] greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? [Is] it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.

Recognizing the value of consistent reflection upon the Word of God in order to refocus one's mind and heart upon Christ and His Gospel of peace, we provide several reading plans designed to cover the entire Bible in a year.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical,
conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy
of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a
range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed
in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
