وَبَعْدَ ذلِكَ دَخَلَ مُوسَى وَهَارُونُ وَقَالاَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ: «هكَذَا يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ إِلهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: أَطْلِقْ شَعْبِي لِيُعَيِّدُوا لِي فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ».

وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ذَهَبَ مُوسَى وَهَرُونُ وَقَالا لِفِرْعَوْنَ: «هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: أَطْلِقْ شَعْبِي لِيَحْتَفِلَ لِي فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ».
