“Well, Abner, you’re a great man, aren’t you?” David taunted. “Where in all Israel is there anyone as mighty? So why haven’t you guarded your master the king when someone came to kill him?

David called to Abner, “You’re a man, aren’t you? Who in Israel is your equal? So why didn’t you protect your lord the king when one of the people came to destroy him?

فَقَالَ دَاوُدُ لأَبْنَيْرَ: «أَمَا أَنْتَ رَجُلٌ؟ وَمَنْ مِثْلُكَ فِي إِسْرَائِيلَ؟ فَلِمَاذَا لَمْ تَحْرُسْ سَيِّدَكَ الْمَلِكَ؟ لأَنَّهُ قَدْ جَاءَ وَاحِدٌ مِنَ الشَّعْبِ لِكَيْ يُهْلِكَ الْمَلِكَ سَيِّدَكَ.

فَقَالَ دَاوُدُ لأَبْنَيْرَ: «أَلَسْتَ أَنْتَ رَجُلاً؟ وَمَنْ مِثْلُكَ فِي كُلِّ إِسْرَائِيلَ؟ فَلِمَاذَا لَمْ تَحْرُسْ سَيِّدَكَ الْمَلِكَ؟ فَقَدْ جَاءَ مَنْ هَمَّ بِقَتْلِ سَيِّدِكَ الْمَلِكِ.
