He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).
Now he gave H5414 to Caleb H3612 the son H1121 of Jephunneh H3312 a portion H2506 among H8432 the sons H1121 of Judah H3063, in H413 accordance H413 with H413 the [fn]command H6310 of the LORD H3068 to Joshua H3091, namely, [fn]Kiriath-arba H7153, Arba being the father H1 of Anak H6061 (that is, Hebron H2275).
Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh Joshua gave a portion among the sons of Judah, as the LORD commanded him, namely, Kiriath-arba, Arba being the father of Anak (that is, Hebron).
وَأَعْطَى كَالَبُ بْنَ يَفُنَّةَ قِسْمًا فِي وَسَطِ بَنِي يَهُوذَا حَسَبَ قَوْلِ الرَّبِّ لِيَشُوعَ: قَرْيَةَ أَرْبَعَ أَبِي عَنَاقَ، هِيَ حَبْرُونُ.
In 1867, John Nelson Darby translated the New Testament from Greek into English. Further revisions were done in 1872 and 1884. Darby’s work was first published as The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation from the Original Languages by J. N. Darby. After Darby’s death in 1882, some of his students worked together to produce the complete Darby Bible based on the Masoretic Hebrew text, Darby’s German (Elberfelder), and the French (Pau) translations. In 1890, the first complete Darby Bible was published in English. This translation of the Bible is in the public domain.
