فَتَكَلَّمَ مُوسَى أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ قَائِلاً: «هُوَذَا بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لَمْ يَسْمَعُوا لِي، فَكَيْفَ يَسْمَعُنِي فِرْعَوْنُ وَأَنَا أَغْلَفُ الشَّفَتَيْنِ؟»

فَأَجَابَ مُوسَى: «هُوَذَا بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لَمْ يُصْغُوا إِلَيَّ، فَكَيْفَ يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيَّ فِرْعَوْنُ وَأَنَا ثَقِيلُ اللِّسَانِ؟»
