وَضَرَبَ أَهْلَ بَيْتَشَمْسَ لأَنَّهُمْ نَظَرُوا إِلَى تَابُوتِ الرَّبِّ. وَضَرَبَ مِنَ الشَّعْبِ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ رَجُل وَسَبْعِينَ رَجُلاً. فَنَاحَ الشَّعْبُ لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ ضَرَبَ الشَّعْبَ ضَرْبَةً عَظِيمَةً.

وَعَاقَبَ الرَّبُّ أَهْلَ بَيْتِ شَمْسَ فَقَتَلَ مِنْهُمْ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلاً لأَنَّهُمْ نَظَرُوا إِلَى مَا بِدَاخِلِ تَابُوتِ الرَّبِّ، فَنَاحَ الشَّعْبُ لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ أَوْقَعَ بِهِمْ كَارِثَةً عَظِيمَةً.
