NASB95 (Narrated)
At that time Joshua imposed this curse:
The man who undertakes
the rebuilding of this city, Jericho,
is cursed before the LORD.
He will lay its foundation
at the cost of his firstborn;
he will finish its gates
at the cost of his youngest.
Then Joshua H3091 made them take H7650 an H7650 oath H7650 at that time H6256, saying H559, “Cursed H779 before H6440 the LORD H3068 is the man H376 who H834 rises H6965 up H6965 and builds H1129 this H2088 city H5892 Jericho H3405; with the loss of his firstborn H1060 he will lay H3245 its foundation H3245, and with the loss of his youngest H6810 son H6810 he will set H5324 up H5324 its gates H1817.”
Then Joshua H3091 made them swear H7650 an oath at that time H6256, saying H559, “Cursed H779 before H6440 Yahweh H3068 is the man H376 who H834 rises H6965 up H6965 and builds H1129 this H2088 city H5892 Jericho H3405; with the loss of his firstborn H1060 he shall lay H3245 its foundation H3245, and with the loss of his youngest H6810 son H6810 he shall set H5324 up its gates H1817.”
Then Joshua made them take an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed before the LORD is the man who rises up and rebuilds this city, Jericho; with the loss of his firstborn he shall lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he shall set up its gates.”
