So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:

“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.”

That is why Christ did not honor himself by assuming he could become High Priest. No, he was chosen by God, who said to him,
“You are my Son.
Today I have become your Father.[fn]

In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.”[fn]

So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him,
“You are my Son,
today I have begotten you”;

So too Christ did not glorify Himself in becoming a high priest, but it was He who said to Him,

“YOU ARE MY SON,

TODAY I HAVE FATHERED YOU”;

TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU”;

So too Christ did not glorify Himself so as to be made a high priest, but He [was exalted and appointed by the One] who said to Him,

“YOU ARE MY SON,

TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN (fathered) YOU [declared Your authority and rule over the nations]”;

So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming high priest, but the one who glorified him was God, who said to him, "You are my Son! Today I have fathered you,"

كَذلِكَ الْمَسِيحُ أَيْضًا لَمْ يُمَجِّدْ نَفْسَهُ لِيَصِيرَ رَئِيسَ كَهَنَةٍ، بَلِ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ:«أَنْتَ ابْنِي أَنَا الْيَوْمَ وَلَدْتُكَ».

Así también Cristo no se glorificó á sí mismo haciéndose Pontífice, mas el que le dijo: Tú eres mi Hijo, yo te he engendrado hoy;
