Now the Jordan overflows its banks throughout the harvest season. But as soon as the priests carrying the ark reached the Jordan, their feet touched the water at its edge

ὡς δὲ εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ αἴροντες τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης ἐπὶ τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ οἱ πόδες τῶν ἱερέων τῶν αἰρόντων τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου ἐβάφησαν εἰς μέρος τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ Ιορδάνου δὲ Ιορδάνης ἐπλήρου καθ᾽ ὅλην τὴν κρηπῖδα αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ ἡμέραι θερισμοῦ πυρῶν

فَعِنْدَ إِتْيَانِ حَامِلِي التَّابُوتِ إِلَى الأُرْدُنِّ وَانْغِمَاسِ أَرْجُلِ الْكَهَنَةِ حَامِلِي التَّابُوتِ فِي ضَفَّةِ الْمِيَاهِ، وَالأُرْدُنُّ مُمْتَلِئٌ إِلَى جَمِيعِ شُطُوطِهِ كُلَّ أَيَّامِ الْحَصَادِ،

كَانَ نَهْرُ الأُرْدُنِّ يَفِيضُ عَلَى جَمِيعِ ضِفَافِهِ، لِحُلُولِ مَوْسِمِ الْحَصَادِ. وَمَا إِنْ أَقْبَلَ الْكَهَنَةُ حَامِلُو التَّابُوتِ عَلَى مِيَاهِ الأُرْدُنِّ وَغَسَلُوا أَرْجُلَهُمْ فِي ضَفَّةِ الْمِيَاهِ،
