فَأُخْبِرَ شَاوُلُ بِأَنَّ دَاوُدَ قَدْ جَاءَ إِلَى قَعِيلَةَ، فَقَالَ شَاوُلُ: «قَدْ نَبَذَهُ اللهُ إِلَى يَدِي، لأَنَّهُ قَدْ أُغْلِقَ عَلَيْهِ بِالدُّخُولِ إِلَى مَدِينَةٍ لَهَا أَبْوَابٌ وَعَوَارِضُ».
