فَأَجَابَ الْكَاهِنُ دَاوُدَ وَقَالَ: «لاَ يُوجَدُ خُبْزٌ مُحَلَّلٌ تَحْتَ يَدِي، وَلكِنْ يُوجَدُ خُبْزٌ مُقَدَّسٌ إِذَا كَانَ الْغِلْمَانُ قَدْ حَفِظُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ لاَ سِيَّمَا مِنَ النِّسَاءِ».

فَأَجَابَ الْكَاهِنُ: «لَيْسَ عِنْدِي خُبْزٌ عَادِيٌّ، وَإِنَّمَا خُبْزٌ مُقَدَّسٌ، يُمْكِنُ لِرِجَالِكَ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا مِنْهُ شَرِيطَةَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا قَدْ حَفِظُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ طَاهِرِينَ وَلاسِيَّمَا مِنَ النِّسَاءِ».
