The king and his men marched to Jerusalem against the Jebusites who inhabited the land. The Jebusites had said to David, “You will never get in here. Even the blind and lame can repel you” thinking, “David can’t get in here.”
Now the king H4428 and his men H376 went H1980 to Jerusalem H3389 against H413 the Jebusites H2983, the inhabitants H3427 of the land H776; and they said H559 to [fn]David H1732, “You shall not come H935 in H935 here H2008, but even those who are blind H5787 and those who limp H6455 will turn H5493 you away H5493,” [fn]thinking H559, “David H1732 cannot H3808 enter H935 here H2008.”

Now the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who said to David, “You shall not enter here, for the blind and the lame [even the weakest among us] will turn you away”; they thought, “David cannot come in here [because the walls are impenetrable].”
وَذَهَبَ الْمَلِكُ وَرِجَالُهُ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ، إِلَى الْيَبُوسِيِّينَ سُكَّانِ الأَرْضِ. فَكَلَّمُوا دَاوُدَ قَائِلِينَ: «لاَ تَدْخُلْ إِلَى هُنَا، مَا لَمْ تَنْزِعِ الْعُمْيَانَ وَالْعُرْجَ». أَيْ لاَ يَدْخُلُ دَاوُدُ إِلَى هُنَا.
