“For,” said Hushai, “you know your father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are enraged in their minds, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field; and your father is a man of war, and will not camp with the people.

Hushai went on to say, "You know your father and his men - they are soldiers and are as dangerous as a bear out in the wild that has been robbed of her cubs. Your father is an experienced soldier; he will not stay overnight with the army.

καὶ εἶπεν Χουσι σὺ οἶδας τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας αὐτοῦ ὅτι δυνατοί εἰσιν σφόδρα καὶ κατάπικροι τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτῶν ὡς ἄρκος ἠτεκνωμένη ἐν ἀγρῷ καὶ ὡς ὗς τραχεῖα ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ καὶ πατήρ σου ἀνὴρ πολεμιστὴς καὶ οὐ μὴ καταλύσῃ τὸν λαόν

ثُمَ قَالَ حُوشَاي: «أَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَبَاكَ وَرِجَالَهُ أَنَّهُمْ جَبَابِرَةٌ، وَأَنَّ أَنْفُسَهُمْ مُرَّةٌ كَدُبَّةٍ مُثْكِل فِي الْحَقْلِ. وَأَبُوكَ رَجُلُ قِتَال وَلاَ يَبِيتُ مَعَ الشَّعْبِ.

ثُمَّ أَضَافَ: «أَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ أَبَاكَ وَرِجَالَهُ هُمْ أَبْطَالٌ يَعْصِفُ بِهِمْ غَضَبٌ جَامِحٌ كَدُبَّةٍ مُتَوَحِّشَةٍ مُثْكِلٍ، وَأَنَّ أَبَاكَ رَجُلُ قِتَالٍ مُتَمَرِّسٌ لَا يَبِيتُ مَعَ قُوَّاتِهِ.
