فَقَالَ: «لاَ يُدْعَى اسْمُكَ فِي مَا بَعْدُ يَعْقُوبَ بَلْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، لأَنَّكَ جَاهَدْتَ مَعَ اللهِ وَالنَّاسِ وَقَدَرْتَ».

فَقَالَ: «لا يُدْعَى اسْمُكَ فِيمَا بَعْدُ يَعْقُوبَ، بَلْ إِسْرَائِيلَ (وَمَعْنَاهُ: يُجَاهِدُ مَعَ اللهِ)، لأَنَّكَ جَاهَدْتَ مَعَ اللهِ وَالنَّاسِ وَقَدَرْتَ».
