"WILL MAN CONQUER SPACE?"
I. FIRST ATTEMPT RECORDED IN Isa 14:12-15.
A. Desire to ascend to God.
B. Pride...Desire to be as God.
C. Attempt failed when halted by God.
II. FIRST ATTEMPT BY MAN TO CONQUER SPACE Gen 11.
A. Necessity of increased speed.
1. Present rockets 25,000 mph.
a. 14 years to Neptune.
b. 17 years to Pluto.
c. 135,000 years to closest star.
2. Increase to speed of light 186,000.
a. 4 1/2 years to closest star.
b. 250,000 years to some other stars.
B. Same ingredients present that marked first two attempts.
1. Desire to ascend into heaven.
2. Pride.
a. Russia's Kruschev "We are going to explore space to find God, and when we find Him we will communize Him."
3. Every sign points to indication that God will once again intervene.
a. The very fact that man seems ready to explore Dan. "In the last days knowledge shall be increased, men shall be running to & fro."
b. The size of weapons today 20 bombs will destroy France and Britian.
"Except those days be shortened no flesh shall remain."
