"TWO MEN AND TWO HOUSES"
I. THIRD OF SERIES.
A. False prophets.
1. Danger of being deceived by appearances.
2. Sheep's clothing.
3. Judge not by appearances.
B. Not all saying, "Lord, Lord."
1. Danger of self-deception because we believe right things.
2. Regarding zeal or fervor as spirituality.
C. Two houses.
1. Danger of seeking or desiring only the benefits of Christian life.
2. Words addressed to professing Christians.
a. Members of churches who profess Christianity.
II. THE SIMILARITIES OF THE MEN.
A. Both desired to build a house.
1. Wanted and interested in same thing.
2. Desired house in same locality.
a. Both subjected to similar storms.
B. Liked and designed same house.
1. No difference except foundation.
III. THE DIFFERENCES.
A. Not obvious.
1. We think it is quite apparent.
2. Subtlety of Satan.
a. False prophet.
B. If you say difference only shows up when storm comes wrong.
1. Christ mocking.
C. Difference of men. Luke 6.
1. Wise man dug deep and laid foundation.
2. Foolish man did not dig.
D. Characteristics of foolish man.
1. In a hurry.
2. Does not trouble to seek instruction.
a. He knows it all.
3. He never thinks through.
a. Consider eventualities.
IV. DIFFERENCES IN HOUSES.
A. When houses built already, too late.
1. Time for examination at very beginning.
2. If foundation wrong, whole house wrong.
V. CHRISTIAN VS. PSEUDO CHRISTIAN.
A. Desire same things.
1. Forgiveness and peace.
2. Comfort and consolation.
3. Guidance.
4. To live a good life.
5. Spiritual power.
a. Simon.
6. Heaven.
