"THY KINGDOM COME"
Intro: The second Psalm is a prophesy yet future when God shall turn over to Jesus Christ the reign of the earth. "Ask of Me."
I. THE NEED OF HIS KINGDOM TO REIGN.
A. We see the shambles Satan's reign has created on the earth.
1. We see the strife and turmoil.
2. We see the suffering and pain.
3. We see sorrow and grief.
4. We see wars and atrocities.
B. We do not see the world as God created it.
1. We see the horrible pollution by man.
a. Air not fit to breathe.
b. Rivers and lakes with water not fit to drink.
2. We see the physical earth cursed as the result of man's sin.
a. "Cursed be the ground, thorns and thistles..."
b. We see the vast barren area of the poles.
1. They were once forested areas.
c. We see violent weather patterns.
3. We cannot see on the earth God's original intent or even a reasonable facsimile.
4. We can see God's intent for man by looking at Jesus Christ.
a. Man created in the image of God, but soon fell and image marred.
b. Jesus came to display to us the image of God.
1. "He that hath seen me..."
2. "This is My beloved Son..."
II. THE CONDITIONS OF HIS KINGDOM.
A. Peace.
1. Peace with God.
2. Peace with himself.
3. Peace with his fellow man.
a. "They shall beat their swords into plows and they spears into pruning hooks."
b. "Think for a moment of how the starvation in the world could be eliminated if each nation would put their military budgets into agricultural development."
4. Peace with the animal kingdom.
a. "The lion will lie down with the lamb, and a little child shall lead..."
B. "Righteousness shall cover the earth as the waters cover the sea."
1. Each man doing the right thing.
2. Each one possessing right motives.
3. People will live without fear.
C. Restoration.
1. Earth be restored.
a. "Desert blossom as rose, blossom abundantly."
2. Man restored into image of God.
a. "Eyes of blind opened, ears of deaf unstopped, the lame will leap like a deer, the tongues of the dumb will sing."
D. Love.
E. Rejoicing.
III. WHO SHALL INHABIT THE KINGDOM?
A. Those who survive the great tribulation and subsequent judgment. "Come ye blessed."
B. Those who have put their trust in Jesus.
