Died: 1685, Wolfenbüttel, Germany.
Rosenmüller attended both the Lateinschule in Oelsnitz, and the University of Leipzig, where he studied theology. Also in Leipzig he taught music at the Thomasschule. He became the organist at the Nikolaikirche in 1651. By 1658, he had moved to Venice, Italy, where he composed and played the trumpet at San Marco. The waning years of his career were spent as Kapellmeister to the court at Wolfenbüttel.
