Hymns Supplied Through the Gracious Generosity
of the Cyber Hymnal Website
Words: Lucy Larcom, 1892.
Music: "Canonbury," adapted from Robert Alexander Schumann's "Nachtstnck," Opus 23, No. 4, 1839 |
O God, Thy world is sweet with prayer;
The breath of Christ is in the air;
We rise on Thy free Spirit's wings,
And every thought within us sings.
Thou art our Morning and our Sun,
Our work is glad, in Thee begun;
Our footworn path is fresh with dew,
For Thou createst all things new.
O God, within us and above,
Close to us in the Christ we love,
Through Him, our only Guide and Way,
May heavenly life be ours today!
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
