Hymns Supplied Through the Gracious Generosity

Words: Krishna Pal of India, in The Devotional Hymn and Tune Book, by William B. Bradbury (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: American Baptist Publishing Society, 1864).
Music: "Oberlin," by Bost
O thou, my soul, forget no more
The Friend Who all thy sorrows bore;
Let every idol be forgot;
But, O my soul, forget Him not.
Renounce thy works and ways, with grief,
And fly to this divine relief;
Nor Him forget, who left his throne,
And for thy life gave up His own.
Eternal truth and mercy shine,
In Him, and He Himself is thine:
And canst thou, then, with sin beset,
Such charms, such matchless charms, forget:
O, no! till life itself depart,
His Name shall cheer and warm my heart;
And lisping this, from earth I'll rise;
And join the chorus of the skies.
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
