As he was telling them these things, suddenly one of the leaders came and knelt down before him, saying, “My daughter just died,[fn] but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”
“When he began to settle accounts, one who owed ten thousand talents[fn] was brought before him.
Just then someone came up and asked him, “Teacher, what good must I do to have eternal life? ”
“What do you want? ” he asked her.
“Promise,”[fn] she said to him, “that these two sons of mine may sit, one on your right and the other on your left, in your kingdom.”
“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,' because you have one Teacher,[fn] and you are all brothers and sisters.
“Do not call anyone on earth your father, because you have one Father, who is in heaven.
“You are not to be called instructors either, because you have one Instructor, the Messiah.
While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. A large mob with swords and clubs was with him from the chief priests and elders of the people.
At that moment one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword. He struck the high priest's servant and cut off his ear.
Then two criminals[fn] were crucified with him, one on the right and one on the left.
Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, put it on a stick, and offered him a drink.
One of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet
But others said, “He's Elijah.” Still others said, “He's a prophet, like one of the prophets from long ago.”
They answered him, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, one of the prophets.”
Someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you. He has a spirit that makes him unable to speak.
As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life? ”
One of the scribes approached. When he heard them debating and saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which command is the most important of all? ”
Then the scribe said to him, “You are right, teacher. You have correctly said that he is one, and there is no one else except him.
As he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, look! What massive stones! What impressive buildings! ”
Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them.
While they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me — one who is eating with me.”
He said to them, “It is one of the Twelve — the one who is dipping bread in the bowl with me.
While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. With him was a mob, with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
One of those who stood by drew his sword, struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his ear.
But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God.
“I tell you, on that night two will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
While he was still speaking, suddenly a mob came, and one of the Twelve named Judas was leading them. He came near Jesus to kiss him,
Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at[fn] him: “Aren't you the Messiah? Save yourself and us! ”
The one named Cleopas answered him, “Are you the only visitor in Jerusalem who doesn't know the things that happened there in these days? ”
He was referring to Judas, Simon Iscariot's son,[fn] one of the Twelve, because he was going to betray him.
Nicodemus — the one who came to him previously and who was one of them — said to them,
When they heard this, they left one by one, starting with the older men. Only he was left, with the woman in the center.
“But I have other sheep that are not from this sheep pen; I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.
One of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all!
“You're not considering that it is to your[fn] advantage that one man should die for the people rather than the whole nation perish.”
So they gave a dinner for him there; Martha was serving them, and Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with him.
When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in his spirit and testified, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
When he had said these things, one of the officials standing by slapped Jesus, saying, “Is this the way you answer the high priest? ”
One of the high priest's servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, said, “Didn't I see you with him in the garden? ”
But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once blood and water came out.
But Thomas (called “Twin”[fn]), one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
When this sound occurred, a crowd came together and was confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language.
Now the entire group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but instead they held everything in common.
One of them, named Agabus, stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be a severe famine throughout the Roman world.[fn] This took place during the reign of Claudius.
since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.
Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying: “Nothing beyond what is written.” The purpose is that none of you will be arrogant, favoring one person over another.
About eating food sacrificed to idols, then, we know that “an idol is nothing in the world,”[fn] and that “there is no God but one.”

Then one of the elders asked me, “Who are these people in white robes, and where did they come from? ”
“Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he comes, he must remain for only a little while.
Then a mighty angel picked up a stone like a large millstone and threw it into the sea, saying,
In this way, Babylon the great city
will be thrown down violently
and never be found again.
Then one of the seven angels, who had held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues, came and spoke with me: “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
