along the road by the sea, beyond the Jordan,

Galilee of the Gentiles.

Large crowds followed him from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he departed from Galilee and went to the region of Judea across the Jordan.

Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to him because they heard about everything he was doing.

He set out from there and went to the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Then crowds converged on him again, and as was his custom he taught them again.

All this happened in Bethany[fn] across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

So they came to John and told him, “Rabbi, the one you testified about, and who was with you across the Jordan, is baptizing ​— ​and everyone is going to him.”

After this, Jesus crossed the Sea of Galilee (or Tiberias).

got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. Darkness had already set in, but Jesus had not yet come to them.

The next day, the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea saw there had been only one boat.[fn] They also saw that Jesus had not boarded the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone off alone.

When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you get here? ”

So he departed again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing earlier, and he remained there.

After Jesus had said these things, he went out with his disciples across the Kidron Valley, where there was a garden, and he and his disciples went into it.

When Jesus saw a large crowd[fn] around him, he gave the order to go to the other side of the sea.

When he had come to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes,[fn] two demon-possessed men met him as they came out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.

Immediately he[fn] made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.

The disciples reached the other shore,[fn] and they had forgotten to take bread.

On that day, when evening had come, he told them, “Let's cross over to the other side of the sea.”

They came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes.[fn]

When Jesus had crossed over again by boat[fn] to the other side, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the sea.

Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd.

Then he left them, got back into the boat, and went to the other side.

One day he and his disciples got into a boat, and he told them, “Let's cross over to the other side of the lake.” So they set out,
