While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered[fn] them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him! ”

“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth[fn] will mourn;[fn] and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

“You have said it,” Jesus told him. “But I tell you, in the future[fn] you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

A cloud appeared, overshadowing them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is my beloved Son; listen to him! ”

“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

“I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

While he was saying this, a cloud appeared and overshadowed them. They became afraid as they entered the cloud.

He also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, right away you say, ‘A storm is coming,’ and so it does.

“Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

After he had said this, he was taken up as they were watching, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

Now I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud, all passed through the sea,

Then we who are still alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

These people are springs without water, mists driven by a storm. The gloom of darkness has been reserved for them.

These people are dangerous reefs[fn] at your love feasts as they eat with you without reverence. They are shepherds who only look after themselves. They are waterless clouds carried along by winds; trees in late autumn ​— ​fruitless, twice dead and uprooted.

Look, he is coming with the clouds,

and every eye will see him,

even those who pierced him.

And all the tribes[fn] of the earth

will mourn over him.[fn]

So it is to be. Amen.

Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow over his head.[fn] His face was like the sun, his legs[fn] were like pillars of fire,

Then they heard[fn] a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” They went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies watched them.

Then I looked, and there was a white cloud, and one like the Son of Man[fn] was seated on the cloud, with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.
