NKJV Available for Free Mobile App Download!
We are excited to announce that the New King James Version (NKJV), published by Thomas Nelson, is free for download on our mobile apps. The NKJV was previously only available via Internet connection. The NKJV has been on Blue Letter Bible for decades and has historically been one of our most popular Bible translations. We are grateful that, through the participation of our BLB donors, we can provide this translation for free download to our users on our iOS and Android apps.
To get your free download, open the Bible manager in your app and navigate to the NKJV. From there, simply tap the download button and it should be added as an offline Bible. If you would like to learn more about the history of the NKJV, you can visit the history page on Thomas Nelson's website.
All 5 Volumes of John Trapp's Commentary
We are excited to add the complete anthology of classical biblical commentator, John Trapp. His large five-volume commentary is still read today and known for being rich with biblical explanation and theological truths. His volumes are quoted frequently by other religious writers, including Charles Spurgeon and Ruth Bell Graham.
Our most widely read commentator, David Guzik, has benefited extensively from Trapp's work and has this to say: "John Trapp is a classic Puritan commentator with keen insight to the Bible, often presented with witty, catchy phrases that are especially memorable in their Elizabethan English."
You can start reading today by heading over to Trapp's author page. On the apps, you can simply tap a verse, select "Text Commentaries," and choose Trapp's commentary for that section of Scripture.
How God is Working through BLB
For the third year in a row, we have been blessed with the opportunity to receive numerous user testimonials from people around the world and compile them into a short video. We hope that, when you watch it, you will be as encouraged as we were by what these sweet people have to say. It has been extremely touching to see how our users interact with BLB and the different ways that they use our tools.
If you have not had the chance to watch the previous two compilation videos, they can be found on our YouTube channel. If you would like to submit your own video testimonial, our staff would love the opportunity to hear from you! Just go to our testimonial page and record it from your device. If you need assistance or would like more information, please contact us at testimonials@blueletterbible.org. May God bless your time in His Word!
Charles Spurgeon is widely regarded as one of the most God-glorifying preachers in history, earning him the renowned title, "Prince of Preachers." His commentaries and sermons are widely used and beloved by those in the Christian community. Because of this, Blue Letter Bible is always seeking to add more value to his resources that we offer. And we are excited to announce our newest update: categorized sermon groups.
Previously, you could sort our Spurgeon sermons by their designated sermon number ("Sort by Sermon No.") or by their date of delivery ("Sort Canonically"). Now, we have added a section where we have sorted hundreds of these sermons into over 20 brand-new categories. These categories include "Blood & the Cross," "Heaven & Hell," and "Prayer," to name a few. All of the sermons on the site are accessible in the standard "Spurgeon's Sermons" section, but many are also included in the topically sorted section.
Along with adding topical categories, we have also added over 200 new sermons to Spurgeon's author page overall, bringing the total to over 1,000. It is such a blessing to be able to offer so much content from one of the greatest preachers in history. We pray that his messages are a blessing to your time in God's Word. We hope to continue providing more resources from this godly man and preacher.
