  1. Introduction
    1. There are two possibilities facing everyone
      1. The Human
        1. The wages of sin is death
        2. The house on the sand
        3. The wide gate
        4. The broad way
        5. Serving “mammon”
      2. The Divine
        1. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
        2. The house on the rock
        3. The narrow gate
        4. The narrow way
        5. Serving God
    2. The two possibilities are completely different
      1. The human is the old life
      2. The divine is the new life
    3. The two positions are consistent
      1. Each has a consequence and result
      2. You start and arrive at a given destination
  2. Analysis
    1. The Master we serve
      1. There are two possibilities
        1. Sin – the wages of
        2. God – the gift of
      2. Every individual in the world at this moment is either – or
      3. The vital question
        1. Not – “What am I doing?”
        2. But – “Who am I serving?”
        3. “For whom am I living?”
    2. The contrast between the two masters and conditions under which we serve
      1. Sin‘s wages or the ration due
        1. It is something earned
        2. It is something deserved
        3. It is something merited
        4. It is the law that decides wages
        5. “The soul that sinneth…it shall die” – Eze 18:4
      2. God‘s gift
        1. It is not earned
        2. It is not merited
        3. It is not a “just recompence”
        4. It is only the result of God’s grace
        5. It is totally free to us who are totally unworthy
    3. The differing results
      1. The steps of sin
        1. Disobedience – unrighteousness
        2. Uncleanness – iniquity
        3. Death
          1. Physical
          2. Spiritual
          3. Eternal – final
            1. Irreversible separation from God
            2. Forever outside the life of God
          4. The reality of – Rev 20
      2. The steps of grace
        1. Obedience, righteousness, holiness
        2. Eternal life
          1. It means knowing God and the Lord Jesus Christ – Jhn 17:3
          2. It means living in the presence of God constantly, continually, forever
          3. It means that we shall be glorified
            1. Crowned with righteousness – 2Ti 4:8, Jhn 17:22, Eph 5:26-27
            2. We shall be like Him – 1Jo 3:1-3
          4. It means to share and enjoy the life of God for eternity
            1. Without sin
            2. Without sorrow
            3. Without worry
            4. Without fear
            5. With every positive quality
          5. It means enjoying and sharing the life of God
            1. It is a way of life now
            2. We have eternal life when we believe in Christ
    4. The means – “Through Jesus Christ our Lord”
      1. Rom 1:3, 8; 3:24; 5:1, 11, 17, 21; 6:11
        1. Everything is through Him
        2. Without Him there is nothing – Jhn 15:5
  3. Response
    1. What is it that causes a person to deliberately prefer a life of selfish sin and refuse God’s way of life?
      1. “Dead in sin”
      2. “Servants of sin”
      3. “Living in darkness”
      4. “By nature children of disobedience”
    2. What is it that causes any person to become forgiven and justified, and to possess eternal life?
      1. It is the gift of God!
      2. It is the grace of God!
      3. It is the love of God!
      4. It is through Jesus Christ our Lord!
