    2. Some Jews and some Gentiles are being saved to form one body – the Church

II. God’s Purpose Fulfilled

  1. God’s Purpose Is Fulfilled Through Christ
    1. The illustration of the Chief Cornerstone – Isa 8:14; Mat 21:42-44; 1Pe 2:6-8
      1. Christ is the Cornerstone of the Church
      2. Christ is rejected by the Jews and the world
      3. Through the Stone – He saves
      4. He hardens
  2. God’s Purpose Is Realized in a Just and Righteous Way Through His Elect
    1. The Gentiles have righteousness by faith
    2. This righteousness is the gift of grace
    3. This righteousness is in Christ – His merit
      1. It does not mean we are sinless
      2. It is not based on our merit or performance
  3. God’s Purpose Is Realized in a Just and Righteous Way Toward the Reprobate
    1. The condemnation is through unbelief and rejection
    2. The condemnation is through the attempt to gain righteousness by the law – works
  4. God’s Purpose Is Fulfilled in Jews and Gentiles
    1. The Jews
      1. Some Jews are saved – the remnant
      2. Some Jews are lost – rejected
    2. The Gentiles
      1. Some Gentiles are saved
      2. Some Gentiles are lost
    3. The issue involved – who determines who is saved and who is lost?
  5. The Conclusion
    1. All boasting is excluded
    2. Only God deserves glory
