"COME."
I. THIS FIRST "COME" IS A PRAYER.
A. It is in response to the statement of Christ, "Behold, I come quickly." vs. 7,12.
1. Jesus proclaimed Himself, the bright and morning star.
a. The morning star always proceeds the new day.
b. So His coming will herald the dawning of a new day for this world.
1. A day of peace, gladness, rejoicing, victory.
B. This prayer seems to grow more urgent.
1. The world is like a powder keg, there are so many lit fuses. The only question is which one will ignite first.
C. Not all the church is joining in this prayer.
1. Some praying, "Wait."
a. For us to finish this project.
b. For us to perfect ourselves.
2. Those who are in tune with the Spirit say, "Come."
D. Why do we pray "Come."
1. We're sick of the bitter fruit of man's rebellion. Sin, greed, strife, hatred, hypocrisy.
2. We know what His coming will mean.
a. Restoration.
1. You see not the world as God created it.
2. You do not see man as God intended.
E. Let him that heareth say, "Come."
1. "He that hath an ear to hear."
II. THE SECOND "COME" IS AN INVITATION.
A. An invitation to the thirsty.
1. All men are thirsty, their spirit crying out for God.
2. Through the Bible invitations given to thirsty men.
a. Isa. 55, "Ho, everyone that thirsteth."
b. John 7, "If any man thirst."
3. Man today seeking to quench his thirst with cokes.
a. Experience in Israel.
b. Just left us thirstier.
c. Wealth, fame, sex, booze, drugs.
"Why do you labor for that which satisfies not?"
4. A true relationship with Jesus Christ is the only truly satisfying experience of life.
5. This water of life is available today for you. And whosoever will."
III. THE LAST PROMISE IN THE BIBLE VS. 20.
Surely, I come quickly.
The last prayer, "Even so, come Lord Jesus."
