现在城外安全了，于是，那些人抓住他的手……把他带到城外。天使们毫不犹豫，把罗得和他的妻子和女儿拖到了安全的地方。这是天使们第二次抓住并救出罗得（第 10 节）。离开城市是一种救赎，一种摆脱审判的解脱。 如果罗得没有离开，他将被城里的惩罚席卷而去。上帝是仁慈的，罗得被带出了城，上帝的怜悯降临在他身上。他也因亚伯拉罕的缘故而得救（创世记 18:23，19:29）。
