提幔是指以扫长子中的第一个首领（创世记 36:15）。它显然也是以东的一个主要城市，因为它与波斯拉平行，波斯拉是主要城市，被认为是首都（阿摩司书 1:12）。然而，在这里，提幔可能是指部落首领，因为它与以东国家同义。
