In Proverbs 10:22, Solomon says, It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it (v. 22). This verse teaches that true abundance is not self-manufactured at the deepest level; it comes from God. Whatever good truly enriches life does so because it carries His blessing.
The richness in view is broader than money alone. It includes the fullness of life that comes from receiving good gifts in God’s way. When God blesses, His blessing is whole. It does not have hidden poison in it. It can be enjoyed without the inner corrosion that often comes with sinful gain.
That is why Solomon says He adds no sorrow to it. Riches seized by pride, greed, or deceit often come tangled with fear, regret, and instability. But God’s blessing is of a different kind. It can be received with gratitude and peace because it comes from His good hand.
