In Proverbs 11:30, Solomon says, The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls (v. 30). The righteous do not merely possess life; they bear fruit that becomes life-giving to others. Their character, speech, and actions produce nourishment.
A tree of life is a rich biblical image, reaching back to Eden and forward to restored life in God’s kingdom. Here it suggests that righteousness becomes a source of blessing, healing, and sustenance within the human community.
The phrase he who is wise wins souls means that wisdom has influence. The wise are able to draw others toward life, truth, and rescue. Their lives become persuasive in the deepest sense. This anticipates the New Testament vision of believers shining as lights and drawing others toward Christ.
