Psalm 59:16-17 Meaning

In Psalm 59:16-17, David, who lived from around 1040 to 970 BC and reigned as the second king of Israel from about 1010 to 970 BC, expresses a deeply personal devotion in the words But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning, For You have been my stronghold And a refuge in the day of my distress (v. 16). By addressing God as his source of strength, David acknowledges that true power and deliverance come from the Lord rather than from mere human effort.
