Como Daniel e seus amigos obedeciam a Deus e comiam apenas os alimentos que Ele havia ordenado (não a comida e a bebida impura do rei), eles foram abençoados com aparências mais saudáveis após o teste de dez dias. O oficial continuou dando-lhes alimentos que não violavam aos mandamentos de Deus.
Isso marca o início da obediência contínua de Daniel a Deus e as bênçãos que Deus lhe dá por sua fé.
Por causa de sua obediência a Deus, Daniel e seus companheiros israelitas foram abençoados com conhecimento e inteligência em todos os ramos da literatura e sabedoria. A palavra hebraica traduzida como "sabedoria" é "chokmah", a mesma palavra usada por Salomão ao pedir sabedoria a Deus. Esta também é a mesma palavra traduzida como "sabedoria" no versículo 20. Além desse dom especial de sabedoria concedido aos quatro jovens hebreus, Daniel também recebe o dom de entender e interpretar todos os tipos de visões e sonhos, o que lhe permite obter o favor de Nabucodonosor no capítulo 2.
À luz das circunstâncias difíceis que esses jovens judeus sofreram, é incrível a fé demonstrada por eles. Não havia dúvida de que suas vidas estavam progredindo neste ponto. Porém, eles se concentram em ser fiéis nas circunstâncias em que se encontravam.
