Paulo não pregava um evangelho ensinado a ele por homens, mas revelado por Jesus. Na última parte deste capítulo, ele conta a seu público a incrível história de como o Evangelho lhe havia sido revelado e como Deus usou seu passado sombrio para espalhar ainda mais o Evangelho de Cristo para encorajar aos outros crentes em toda a região.
Paulo não pregava o Evangelho recebido da parte de Deus para agradar às pessoas, mas para agradar a Deus. Paulo havia recebido uma revelação diretamente de Jesus e estava sendo fiel em anunciá-la a todos, independentemente de as pessoas gostarem ou não.
Os gálatas haviam sido desviados por homens, não por Deus. Como Paulo explica, o Evangelho não vem do homem, mas de Deus. A ideia de que os gálatas se deixariam enganar por uma distorção do Evangelho era particularmente chocante para Paulo. Ele pergunta a seu público: Estou buscando o favor dos homens ou de Deus?
Se estivesse realmente buscando o favor dos homens, Paulo - e os gálatas com ele - não seria mais servo de Jesus, mas servo dos homens.
